Justin, named after the Santa Fe Railroad line chief engineer, Justin Sherman, grew up around the railroad. Although originally settled by French colonists in 1848, it was abandoned a year later. However, when the Santa Fe Railroad decided to extend its line in 1887 from Fort Worth to Purcell, Oklahoma, tracks were laid close to the community. The town has grown ever since, with residents from other local communities moving to Justin to be closer to the railroad. Now, Justin has seen tremendous growth due to commuters to Fort Worth and Alliance airport snapping up homes with large lots in several neighborhoods. Part of the Northwest ISD, Justin sports several highly rated schools as well. However, you will still find that small town feel as soon as you get to town.
